Canon L Lens

I’m in the market for another camera lens. I currently use one single lens. My “walk around” lens. My standard “kit lens” (yea yea, I know), although it did not come with my camera body. I was originally using the Sigma 18-200MM F3.5-6.3 DC. So I voluntarily went out and bought it….um, anyways, the lens I’m using today is the Canon EF-S 17-85MM F4-5.6 IS USM lens. It’s not the best lens in the world, but it is a great lens to learn from. Check out some samples from the Flickr group page.

Now, I am ready to purchase one of Canon’s reputable L-series lens. I’m looking for a lens that produces a good sharp zoom result. The main use will be shooting wildlife. Because of Canon 30D’s smaller sensor with a 1.6x lens focal length, I don’t believe I will need a super telephoto zoom lens. Below are the lens I’ve narrowed it down to.

Maybe it’s time to rent first…
